Warhammer 40,000 has built a huge, devoted following, and the fans aren’t just sitting back—they’re actively adding their own flavor and creativity to this expansive universe. Among the fan creations, none have struck a chord quite like Astartes, a series brought to life by Syama Pedersen on YouTube. This captivating series immerses viewers in the intense action as the Retributors Chapter launches an assault on an enemy vessel. What’s fascinating is the almost total lack of spoken dialogue, letting the raw power of the Space Marines’ boarding fight and the enigmatic alien artifacts they encounter tell the tale.
The popularity of Astartes soared so high that it caught the eye of Games Workshop, leading them to bring Pedersen aboard. Just recently, they released a teaser for Astartes 2, which has fans buzzing with excitement.
In the newly unveiled trailer, we get a taste of the high-octane action scenes featuring a variety of Space Marine Chapters. The Retributors are back in action, accompanied by the Blood Angels, Mortifactors, Sons of Medusa, and the Scythes of the Emperor. According to the Warhammer Community’s release, these aren’t sneak peeks of the new show but rather snippets introducing us to each Marine and their backstory. Judging by the appearance of the Deathwatch Terminator towards the end, it seems these Marines might unite under the banner of the Deathwatch, an elite group that recruits Marines from various Chapters to take on alien foes.
Unfortunately, we’ll need to curb our enthusiasm until 2026 rolls around to catch Astartes 2. But if it’s anything like its predecessor, we’re in for a treat packed with minimal dialogue, intense action, and a compelling alien menace. There’s more to look forward to since Pedersen has also contributed to And They Shall Know No Fear, part of Amazon’s Secret Level anthology linked to Space Marine 2. Fans can expect Astartes 2 to make its home on Warhammer Plus, a streaming service rich with animations, tutorials, and content from both the 40K universe and the fantastical Age of Sigmar.
