Dead by Daylight has just announced a couple of codes that players can use to score some cool freebies, including in-game currency and unique cosmetics. This survival horror multiplayer game, which first came out in 2016, is available across PC, consoles, and even mobile.
Though it had a bumpy start, Dead by Daylight has found its stride over the years, drawing in tens of thousands of daily players. Its gripping cat-and-mouse dynamic between Survivors and a Killer keeps gamers coming back, and eight years after its release, it’s still got a strong player base. In fact, as of now, it boasts a concurrent peak of over 44,000 players on Steam. Behaviour Interactive, the game’s developer, continues to support its growth with fresh updates and exciting collaborations, regularly introducing content geared towards popular culture, like themes from the Alien franchise.
Recently dropping a teaser on Twitter, Dead by Daylight shared two codes that you can redeem in the in-game shop for rewards. Simply key in “IFLOOKSCOULDCHILL” to snag the Frosty Eyes Cosmetics, which gives your character a pair of chilling icy blue glowing eyes. Meanwhile, “MAKEITREINDEER” gifts you 250,000 Bloodpoints, the game’s currency that helps level up your characters. Keep in mind, though, that you need to use the latter code by January 7, 2025, as this was part of an apology for past issues during the Bone Chill event.
Aside from these enticing codes, there’s a treasure trove of other time-limited items up for grabs as part of the Bone Chill event, which wraps up on January 7 at 11 AM ET/8 AM PT. Expect to find winter-themed outfits, weapons, charms, and log-in bonuses among the rewards. These not only offer a one-time incentive but also keep players engaged throughout the festive season. Both the codes and event rewards serve as a great way to pile up Bloodpoints, which are crucial for advancing your in-game characters.
Dead by Daylight isn’t just a hit in gaming circles; it’s also branching out into other media. It’s been turned into comic books and a board game, both launched in 2023. The next big thing fans can look forward to is a movie adaptation, with horror mavens Jason Blum and James Wan at the helm. While there’s currently no set release date, Jason Blum mentioned back in October 2024 that the film’s script could take anywhere between one to five years to develop.
This game brings the thrill of horror films to life, letting players become characters from various horror classics. In this 1v4 multiplayer setting, you can choose to either be the menacing Killer or one of the Survivors fighting for their lives. Each character offers a rich progression system with numerous customizations to suit strategic preferences. This edition features seven unique Killers and nine Survivors, along with various cosmetic packs that bring additional character outfits to the mix. Whether you’re hunting or being hunted, Dead by Daylight brings all the terror and excitement one could hope for.
