Developers at the renowned Japanese studio, Tango Gameworks, have hinted at the possibility of creating a sequel to the 2023 hit, Hi-Fi Rush.
In an interview with IGN, Colin Mack, the head of the studio, revealed that while a sequel is being considered, there are no official plans set in stone just yet. “We are considering a sequel positively,” Mack shared. “However, we aren’t quite at the point where we can say, ‘This is what we’re going to do.’”
Adding to Mack’s comments, Hi-Fi Rush’s director, John Johanas, expressed the team’s enthusiasm for the game. “A lot of our team really cherishes [Hi-Fi Rush], so we feel like there are multiple paths we could take,” Johanas explained. “Right now, we’re exploring different opportunities.”
Project manager Kazuaki Egashira highlighted what makes Tango Gameworks unique: its commitment to innovation and creating new experiences. “Hi-Fi Rush has gained attention as a fresh IP, yet if it didn’t evolve, it might eventually lose its appeal,” Egashira noted.
“Tango Gameworks thrives on embracing new challenges. I aspire to keep working in a way that prioritizes our developers—keeping their passion alive,” they concluded.
