Dave Baszucki, the CEO of Roblox, recently addressed concerns from parents about the potential dangers children might face on the platform, offering a straightforward piece of advice: if you’re worried, it’s best to steer your kids clear of it.
In an interview with the BBC, Baszucki, who is also the co-founder of the company, expressed a zero-tolerance approach toward negative experiences on Roblox. He emphasized, “If you’re not comfortable, then don’t allow your kids to use Roblox.” Although that may seem counter-intuitive, he maintained that parents should feel empowered to make decisions they believe are best for their families.
When asked about reports concerning unpleasant experiences and the presence of bad actors on Roblox, he explained, “Within the company, we believe that even a single negative incident is one too many. We monitor for bullying and harassment and have filters to prevent such issues. Behind the scenes, our investigations are thorough, and we won’t hesitate to involve law enforcement if it’s needed.”
This discussion follows several reports about malicious individuals exploiting the platform. In response, Roblox has been working to enhance its safety measures, aiming to better protect its younger users and ease parental concerns.
