So, it looks like there’s a movie version of the newly-released game, Split Fiction, coming down the pipeline. According to Variety, Story Kitchen is spearheading the project, rounding up a cast, writers, and director. This isn’t their first rodeo either; they’ve been behind adapting Hazelight’s earlier hit, It Takes Two, in collaboration with Amazon. They’re also working on projects like Toejam and Earl, Slim Rancher, and Vampire Survivors.
It seems the buzz is real as “multiple top Hollywood studios” are throwing offers their way, eager to get in on the action.
Split Fiction made its debut in March, and it made quite an entrance by selling a million copies within just 48 hours. By the end of the first week, sales doubled to an impressive two million.
In response to this overwhelming success, Hazelight took to Bluesky with a message saturated with joy: “Holy crap, we’re blown away! Simply amazing. Thank you to all of our new and old fans – we love how excited you are for our game.”
As for the It Takes Two film, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is set to star, while Pat Casey and Josh Miller, renowned for their work on Sonic the Hedgehog, are penning the script.
