It’s hard to believe it’s already been a month since Monster Hunter Wilds hit the PlayStation 5! A massive thank you goes out to all the hunters across the globe for the amazing support. Whether you’re a seasoned pro, braving countless hunts, or just joined with Wilds, we’re thrilled you’re diving deep into the game and clocking in hours post-credits, tackling those High Rank challenges.
We’ve got some exciting news coming your way today as we’re finally unveiling the game’s first Free Title Update:
### Introducing the Mesmerizing Mizutsune
Prepare yourselves, hunters, because the elegant Leviathan Mizutsune is making its grand debut in Wilds. This graceful creature attacks with hypnotic bubbles, almost like it’s putting on a wicked dance. Gather your gear and get ready to face this returning beast for the first time in the wild terrains of Monster Hunter Wilds.
Moreover, hunters will have the opportunity to craft stunning new armor sets for both themselves and their loyal Palico from Mizutsune parts. There’s even the chance to face off against an eight-star Tempered Mizutsune. Ready for the challenge? Head to Kanya in the Scarlet Forest Base Camp, but make sure your Hunter Rank (HR) is 21 or above.
### The Mighty Arch-tempered Rey Dau Challenging Event
Tempered monsters are the fiercest contenders in Monster Hunter Wilds to date. But with Free Title Update 1, a mighty Arch-tempered monster takes the stage, ready to test your skills to the limit. Get ready to tackle the Arch-tempered Rey Dau in an Event Quest set for Tuesday, April 30, but only if you’ve reached HR 50 or above.
New and improved Rey Dau γ (gamma) and Felyne Rey Dau γ (gamma) armor sets await those who conquer this formidable opponent. Sharpen your blades and craft your strategies until then—this rewards-worthy challenge isn’t for the faint of heart.
### Zoh Shia Returns for Another Round
The fearsome Zoh Shia is making a comeback in High Rank battles with Free Title Update 1. While previously, hunters got a single chance against Zoh Shia in the storyline, the rules have changed. Starting from April 4, those at HR 50 and above can embark on this reusable quest.
You can find the Zoh Shia quest in the Environment Overview menu or through rare encounters in the Wyvern’s Wakening event in the Ruins of Wyveria. This battle yields materials perfect for crafting all-new High Rank gear for you and your Palico.
### Welcome to the Grand Hub
Step into the Grand Hub, a buzzing social space where hunters gather, chat, and engage in entertaining activities, exclusive to this unique location. Once a revered place of worship for Suja folks, the Hub sometimes echoes with the Diva’s captivating songs during the serene nights—an enchanting spectacle not to be missed!
Gear up for the latest mini-game, Barrel Bowling, at the Grand Hub. Roll barrel bombs to hit targets and score big to earn useful items and pendants for future hunts. You can grab Barrel Bowling Vouchers in a variety of ways, including daily login bonuses.
Feeling hungry? Join other hunters at the Grand Hub for a feast, where the skilled Felyne chefs whip up decadent meals. The Grand Hub becomes accessible to you at HR 16, thanks to Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord. Once you’re in, you’ll manage squads from the Squad Information Counter now moved here from the Windward Plains Base Camp.
### Duels of Speed in the Arena
Arena Quests make their triumphant return in Monster Hunter Wilds. In these challenges, you and a partner hunter can compete for the shortest quest completion times using predetermined gear. Showcase your swiftest completions on the global leaderboard at the Expedition Record Board.
### New Challenges Await
Embrace the competitive side with limited-time Event Quests designed to earn pendants as rewards. Everyone gets a pendant, but clocking better times and ranks worldwide could snag you something extra special. Arena and Challenge Quests follow specific gear rules and are capped at two hunters. Or dive into Free Challenge Quests, a fresh twist allowing up to four players and no gear limits, with Support Hunters around to assist.
### Customize Alma’s Style
New customization options arrive with the ability to change Alma’s outfit via the camp’s Appearance Menu. Completing certain side missions will even let you switch up her glasses. Take advantage of a free-of-charge new outfit for Alma, available to everyone.
### Fresh Downloadable Content
Alma’s outfits and vintage Monster Hunter gestures land as free DLC at the PlayStation Store after Free Title Update 1 drops. Additionally, the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1, part of the Premium Deluxe Edition or available separately, will release simultaneously. Grab this if you’re looking to add a personal touch to your game.
### Celebrate the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance
From April 23 to May 7, join the Grand Hub’s Festival of Accord: Blossomdance. Seasonal events bring a refresh of decor and cuisine, plus the chance to collect limited edition equipment, gestures, and new trimmings for your pop-up camps.
That’s a wrap on the highlights for the first Free Title Update. Together with these additions, bug fixes, and adjustments will roll out as well. Next time, look forward to another update in May, featuring a special collaboration with another Capcom title and even more features.
Keep an eye out for Free Title Update 2 this summer, promising yet more exciting content. Until then, relish this teaser for future adventures. May your hunts be ever thrilling!
