The opinions among the members of the Commander Format Panel were quite diverse. While some panelists hold the view that leaving these cards out makes Commander more enjoyable, others are inclined to wait and see how the Commander Bracket system is embraced before making any decisions. There are voices suggesting it’s premature to take any action concerning these cards. A handful thought Jeweled Lotus might warrant attention right now, but they were not in the majority. Most of the panel members felt it wasn’t the right time to make changes regarding any of these cards.
Speaking candidly, I believe if any card were to make a comeback, Jeweled Lotus stands the best chance. This is due to its one-time use, its iconic status, and its ability to aid commanders with high mana requirements. To be perfectly clear, I’m not predicting this will happen, but Jeweled Lotus seemed to generate the most interest and discussion among the panel.
