Thunderful recently dropped the second developer diary for their upcoming game, Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, which will soon hit the Nintendo Switch.
This time around, we hear from narrative director Oskar Hanska. He takes the spotlight to delve into the game’s storytelling elements, focusing on the choices players can make and the importance of voice acting.
Stormteller Games (formerly known as Thunderful Gothenburg) is crafting this next thrilling chapter set in the spooky and twisted world of Lost in Random. It’s a rogue-lite action game that’s sure to keep you on your toes.
The story kicks off when Mare the Knight captures Aleksandra, previously referred to as The Queen, along with her partner Fortune, trapping them inside the mysterious Black Die. Your mission? To carve through a series of randomly generated challenges, facing off against grotesque pawns and huge board games.
If you succeed, you’ll earn treasures that bolster your chances against Aleksandra’s captor. However, it’s your cleverness and the aid of your trusty die companion that will ultimately guide you out of this creepy maze where darkness prevails and Random Rules.
The team has highlighted the game’s key features, including:
Mastery Meets Chance: Dive into fast, adrenaline-pumping combat that smartly blends real-time action with strategic planning and a bit of luck.
Forge Your Playstyle: Equip four distinct weapons, unleash your die companion, and mix and match over 100 relics with powerful card-based abilities for explosive combos.
Ever-Changing World: Explore four unique, randomly generated worlds, each packed with its own secrets and obstacles. Brace yourself to face more than 30 different enemy types and daunting bosses.
A Dark Fantasy Tale: Lose yourself in a story richly brought to life through a fully voiced narrative set in a Tim Burton-esque world, complete with hauntingly gorgeous landscapes and a captivating soundtrack.
Lost In Random: The Eternal Die will be available digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch globally in Summer 2025.
