Nintendo has made it clear that having exclusive games will be a key strategy when they roll out the Nintendo Switch 2.
This insight came to light during a shareholder meeting, where someone raised a question about the future of Nintendo Switch game releases following the launch of its successor.
Nintendo’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, responded by saying, “We’ve announced Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, with both expected to arrive in 2025 for the Nintendo Switch. With a strong player base, we see the potential in keeping new titles coming as long as they’re compelling.”
He further explained, “That said, exclusive games are essential for introducing new hardware. Keeping that in mind, we are exploring different strategies for both the Nintendo Switch and its upcoming version to ensure we capture the interest of as many players as possible.”
For those eager for more details about the forthcoming console, you won’t have to wait too long. Tune into the Nintendo Direct presentation focused on Nintendo Switch 2 at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST on Wednesday, April 2.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is set for a global debut in 2025, although the exact release date hasn’t been announced yet.
