February 2025 might not be packed with high-profile video game drops, mostly due to a key title being postponed, but there’s still something intriguing heading our way that month. Enter “Keep Driving,” a quirky driving RPG where you engage in turn-based battles while collecting an assortment of items on your journey.
If you haven’t stumbled upon this delightfully odd game yet, let me fill you in. Last year during Steam Next Fest, I had a chance to dive into the demo, and oh, I only managed to get defeated by a puddle once. At its core, Keep Driving is all about embarking on a road trip to visit a friend. Along the journey, you and your trusty vehicle must tackle various challenges typical of road travel, all while attending to your needs for food and rest.
Now mark your calendars because the full version of Keep Driving is slated to launch on February 6 on PC via Steam, thanks to Swedish developers, YCJY Games, who shared this exciting news with a cheerful tweet.
There’s also a fresh trailer to check out. It’s full of zany turn-based fights featuring cars against tractors, sheep, and potholes. Plus, the trailer offers a sneak peek at a few additional cars you can load up with all the essentials for you, your ride, and any hitchhikers you encounter. I was a fan of the demo’s not-quite-Volvo, but honestly, the prospect of hitting the road in a pickup truck is awakening my inner Johnny Cash enthusiast.
For now, Keep Driving is set for a PC release, but one of the developers hinted at possible future console releases in a tweet, mentioning they’re “not really sure which consoles yet, besides Switch.” I’d personally love to see a PS2 port so I can easily switch gears between this and some classic Need for Speed Underground action.
Fingers crossed that the full version of Keep Driving amplifies the vibes I adored during my first go-round.
