Elden Ring, the action RPG that has captivated gamers worldwide, has achieved an impressive milestone by selling over 28.6 million copies. This news came from Bandai Namco, the game’s publisher, who shared this exciting update during last week’s Game Awards, where they also announced a new multiplayer-themed spin-off titled Nightreign. These sales figures are current up to the end of September.
Back in June, Elden Ring had already reached an impressive 25 million copies sold. Since then, it has managed to move an additional 3.6 million copies. This boost in sales can likely be attributed to some strategic discounts and the summertime release of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, which has kept players engaged and eager for more.
Daniel Ahmad of Niko Partners highlighted an interesting point on Twitter: Elden Ring’s sales have now surpassed the entire Dark Souls franchise, which, since its debut in 2011, has achieved 27 million copies in sales. It’s a remarkable achievement for Elden Ring, solidifying its status as a powerhouse in the gaming world.
