I get it—you’re probably a bit worn out from the never-ending theories and speculation surrounding the much-anticipated second trailer for GTA 6. Fans are so eager they might soon find themselves theorizing in the parking lot of McDonald’s based on the most tenuous of clues. And guess what? They’re at it again. This time, the frenzy was sparked by numbers on a shipping container.
To be fair, this isn’t too different from previous catalysts that have set tongues wagging, which ranged from moon phases and song playlists to the mysterious number 27, all playing a part in the lead-up to late 2024.
So, what exactly has ignited the excitement among the GTA 6 community when they should arguably be analyzing the Switch 2 reveal like true sleuths? As with the previous lunar conspiracies, it all started with a tweet—or rather, an image posted by Rockstar Games promoting content for GTA Online.
The message included enticing offers: “Claim a free Vapid Dominator GT muscle car and more with GTA+. Members can also snag bonuses from Priority FIB Files and Terrorbyte Client Missions, enjoy Arcade Property discounts, and much more.” Essentially, it’s a ‘hey, subscribe to our premium service, snag a free car, throw some money our way’ kind of pitch, complete with an image of the Dominator speeding past some shipping containers for reference.
But hold up, as Billy Mays famously said, there’s more! A sharp-eyed fan on the GTA 6 subreddit noticed some curious numbers on a red shipping container next to the car. And so the calculations began. By summing up the numbers on the container, apart from one enigmatic two boxed away like it’s tired of this nonsense, the total came to 30. This led the poster to speculate that January 30, 2025, could be the fateful date for the second trailer. Mark it in your calendars, folks.
What’s more, according to the theory, January 30 is a Thursday—the same weekday that saw the final release announcements for both GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. Coincidence? They think not. They also pointed out that Rockstar’s next earnings call falls on February 6, suggesting, perhaps wishfully, that Rockstar might choose that moment to reveal what everyone’s been dying to see.
Even among the die-hard theorists on the GTA 6 subreddit, a place where wild speculations often find an audience, this one hasn’t gained much traction. With a bit of luck, it will turn out entirely accurate, giving us all a reason for a good chuckle.
So, are you finding the endless stream of GTA 6 trailer theories entertaining, at least as a delightful distraction from discussions about potential costs? Let us know what you think!
