Yesterday, Bigscreen started accepting orders for their upcoming PC VR headset, the Beyond 2, which promises to enhance field-of-view and sharpness with its fresh pancake lens design. According to the company, it took just ten hours for the Beyond 2 to surpass the sales of the original Beyond by a wide margin.
Bigscreen shared several updates on platform X, showcasing the impressive reception the Beyond 2 has enjoyed among PC VR fans. “In just the first 25 minutes, sales of Beyond 2 exceeded the entire first day of Beyond 1’s launch. After an hour, we had doubled the launch day sales of Beyond 1,” the company reported early on.
As the hours passed, more details emerged about the sales performance of both the Beyond 2 and its eye-tracking counterpart, the Beyond 2e. And oh boy, the figures are remarkable.
“Within just ten hours of launch… Beyond 2 has outsold the first four months of sales of Beyond 1,” Bigscreen announced.
At this point, the delivery for Beyond 2 and Beyond 2e has shifted to June 2025, since the initial shipments for April and May are already spoken for.
What’s driving all this excitement about Beyond 2? While you can dive into all the nitty-gritty details and specs of Beyond 2 elsewhere, a big draw could be Bigscreen’s convenient upgrade path. Beyond 1 users can grab the new headset at a discounted price—$849 for Beyond 2 and $1049 for Beyond 2e. Plus, most of the accessories for Beyond 1, including the needed custom facial interface, are compatible with Beyond 2.
Additionally, the Beyond 2 features a revamped pancake lens design, providing a wider 116-degree diagonal FOV, an adjustable IPD mechanism, and a lightweight 107g design. The Beyond 2e also includes AI-powered eye-tracking capabilities. While it still uses the dual 1-inch 2,560 × 2,560 micro-OLED displays from the original Beyond, the new lenses offer better clarity and FOV.
Beyond 2 and 2e are tagged at $1,019 and $1,219 respectively (with discounts for Beyond 1 owners). These were launched alongside a new halo-style mount and a Lightblocker facial interface, expected to roll out in Q3 2025.
