XR Games, known for titles like “Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded” and “Starship Troopers Continuum,” both launched in 2024, has unveiled an exciting new project on Quest called BEATABLE. This fresh rhythm game transforms any tabletop into a musical playground by harnessing hand-tracking technology.
Immersing players in a virtual world that mirrors their real environment can be quite gripping, amplifying the sensation of being somewhere else. BEATABLE elevates this experience by allowing your table to become a responsive musical instrument. You can tap, snap, and clap to the rhythm using just your hands, achieving a tactile connection that traditional controller-based rhythm games simply can’t match.
Ditching controllers entirely, BEATABLE utilizes only hand-tracking. The game boasts quick calibration to ensure your hand movements are accurately tracked, crucial when precision hitting of beats affects your score.
The project garners additional credibility with VR YouTuber and rhythm action aficionado, Naysy, who has joined XR Games to provide gameplay insights during development. She also makes an appearance in the game’s promotional trailer.
Reflecting on her experience, Naysy shares, “It’s been a while since a rhythm game hooked me like this. I’ve always been a fan of VR rhythm games, and BEATABLE offers something refreshingly unique. The combination of physical interaction and hand tracking feels natural, making for a fun, immersive experience. I’m smitten with this game and can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on it.”
BEATABLE is set to enter early access on April 10th, exclusively for Quest 2 and newer models. Eager players can pre-order now, enjoying a 10% discount that brings the price down to just $9.
