Recently, my allegiance to Razer headsets has been challenged. I’ve long been a fan of the Razer Kraken Ultimate, the Kraken V3 series, and the Razer Kaira Pro while playing on my PC. But this October, Alienware’s new release caught my attention. Their Pro Wireless Gaming Headset impressed me so much that my Razer collection is now tucked away, gathering dust.
Designed for serious gamers craving exceptional sound, mic clarity, comfort, and wireless capabilities, the Alienware Pro Wireless Gaming Headset debuted with a steep price of $229.99. However, with Black Friday deals on the horizon, you can snag it for $199.99 at Dell – that’s a cool 13% discount.

Why I Recommend the Alienware Pro Wireless Gaming Headset
Here’s why I think you’ll love the Alienware Pro Wireless. This headset wraps up Alienware’s 2024 accessories lineup, alongside the Alienware Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse and Keyboard that launched earlier. My review underscores that this headset outdoes any wireless model I’ve tried in years, including beloved sets from Razer like the Kraken V3 Pro HyperSense and the Kaira Pro.
What truly won me over is its microphone quality. With Razer, the mic is often just satisfactory, but Alienware’s mic stands out as the best I’ve used. It consistently captures my voice clearly, a must for those late-night Discord chats with friends. While the AI noise cancellation is a bit aggressive, turning it off still keeps background noise at bay effectively.
The sound quality is equally impressive. Boasting 50mm graphene-coated drivers, it offers a well-balanced soundscape with a wide 20-40KHz frequency range. Whether it’s highs, mids, or lows, everything sounds stellar, and if you like blasting your volume, its capacity will impress even more. Compared to Razer’s recent releases, these drivers seem more robust, despite lacking features like HyperSense or Sensa HD Haptics motors.
This headset is a tad snugger than Razer’s spacious designs, but it also feels lighter—which I don’t mind. Adjustable headband lengths and flexible construction make it suitable for various head sizes. The memory foam leatherette earcups are soft, permitting comfortable all-day play. Although I prefer the cooler, airier cushions of Razer’s sets, Alienware’s offering is nearly just as comfy.
As for design, Alienware has gone understated. Choosing to sidestep flashy RGB, it sports a simple but elegant rounded chassis available in "Lunar Light" white or "Dark Side of the Moon" black. It’s sturdily built and packed with useful onboard controls: a volume wheel, mic mute toggle, an ANC toggle, a power button, and a switch for choosing between 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth connections. Both wireless options work seamlessly, and I’ve gotten close to 70-75 hours of battery life with ANC off before recharging. There’s also a wired connection available if needed.
The Alienware Pro does have a couple of downsides, including no Xbox console support and its average ANC. However, as someone rarely on Xbox and generally unimpressed by ANC, these don’t weigh too heavily on me. If you’re bothered by these points, you might explore other top PC gaming headsets. But if not, this headset could win you over—especially at its reduced price of $199.99 at Dell. Since receiving my review unit, I haven’t reached for any of my Razer headsets and probably never will.
When is Black Friday?
Black Friday lands right after Thanksgiving each year, marked on November 29, 2024. Retailers often start their Black Friday deals early to get ahead of the competition, so it’s a good chance to snag those deals now rather than waiting. Though you might hope for better bargains on the day, waiting can mean risking stock shortages.
When is Cyber Monday?
Cyber Monday kicks off after Thanksgiving weekend, on December 2, 2024, extending Black Friday offers and often unleashing new deals. It’s wise to check online stores throughout that Monday to see fresh discounts, making it a savvy time for shoppers.
