As the trailer wraps up, we catch a glimpse of the Fantastic Four stepping onto the scene in their classic blue-and-white costumes. I’ve got to admit, there’s a hint of that do-it-yourself costume vibe you might find at Spirit Halloween, but I’m choosing to stay optimistic. The aesthetic aligns with a different era in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it makes sense that they wouldn’t have the same sleek, futuristic look as their superhero peers.
Interestingly, the preview showcases the powers of all the characters except Mr. Fantastic. Perhaps the iconic stretching abilities are still being fine-tuned in animation, not quite ready for the big reveal. I’m guessing we’ll get a proper look at him in action once the next trailer drops, which is likely to be released sometime before the film hits theaters on July 25.
