Great news for gaming enthusiasts in the United States: we finally have a confirmed date for Switch 2 preorders after a couple of weeks of discussions about tariffs.
Nintendo announced today that you’ll be able to preorder the Switch 2 on Thursday, April 24. The prices haven’t changed from the initial announcement, with the standalone system priced at $449.99 and the option to get it with a digital Mario Kart World for $499.99.
However, there’s a slight twist when it comes to accessories. Given the ever-changing circumstances, some accessory prices are seeing an increase. For instance, the Switch 2 Pro Controller will now cost $84.99, which is a $5 bump. Similarly, the Switch 2 Joy-Cons are up by $5 as well, now priced at $94.99. If you’re considering a second dock set, that’ll be an extra $10, bringing the price to $119.99. Additional straps for the Joy-Cons are now an extra $1 at $13.99. Several other accessories have seen similar $5 hikes. We’ve included a comprehensive list of these hardware prices, along with details on Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza pricing, right here in the article.
For our friends in Canada, it looks like preorders should also kick off the same day. Even though retailers haven’t updated yet, Nintendo of Canada has confirmed the same launch date and shared the pricing details. However, due to a national holiday there, don’t expect an official confirmation today.
