Silent North has just landed on Quest and Steam with its early access alpha release, bringing a fresh VR zombie survival experience from the creators at Ghosts of Tabor studio.
Combat Waffle Studios, known for hits like Ghosts of Tabor and GRIM, teamed up with Beyond Frames Entertainment to craft Silent North, a new PvPvE VR shooter set against the stunning backdrop of the Alps. In this game, survival is key as you contend with the brutal winter, navigate the threat of zombies, and compete against other survivors for limited resources.
You’ll rely on your ability to manage essentials such as food and warmth while scavenging for supplies across various villages. There’s also the option to forge alliances with fellow players if you’re feeling diplomatic. According to the developers, the game features a dynamic day and night cycle, giving you the chance to leverage stealth during nighttime or gain a tactical advantage in daylight when spotting enemies is easier.
This release comes hot on the heels of a busy period for Combat Waffle Studios, following closely after the early access alpha of GRIM, a VR survival multiplayer sandbox game inspired by Rust. Developed in collaboration with Spoonfed Interactive, GRIM immerses players in a post-failed Mars colonization scenario. The game, which initially entered early access, has now moved into its beta phase, boasting numerous updates since its debut.
You can jump into Silent North’s early access alpha now on Quest and Steam.
This piece was initially published on February 21, 2025, with the game slated for a March 20 release. It was later updated on April 8, 2025, following a short delay, to coincide with the game’s official launch.
