Blizzard recently unveiled a blog post packed with videos showing off the flexibility of their new in-game furnishing system. These clips feature a cool grid setup where you can place furniture with the option to snap items neatly into place. What’s even more intriguing is the capability to adorn larger pieces, like bookshelves or dining tables, with smaller items that stay in sync with the main object. It’s worth noting that this sneak peek is all about decorating interiors in a single room, as Blizzard mentions, and they also point out that everything is still in development, so the UI might get some changes.
For those who like to dive deeper into customization, there’s a Basic mode for quick tweaks, but anyone eager to get creative can try out the Advanced mode. This lets you experiment with clipping furniture and rotating items in all directions, paving the way for inventive player housing. It opens up opportunities for builders who want to craft intricate designs by strategically placing and turning objects.
Blizzard is also bringing the option to resize objects, which is a smart move given the different player model sizes. A gnome looking for cozy spaces will appreciate this flexibility, while a Tauren might need a bit more room. The possibilities extend to changing the color of some furniture pieces, particularly those designed specifically for player housing. However, not all pieces will have this feature as some are repurposed from existing game assets.
Even though this blog post zooms in on the interior aspect, Blizzard points out that your home’s exterior size doesn’t restrict the interior layout. Want a sprawling mansion with just one grand room? Or perhaps a tiny shack with countless rooms inside? Go wild. The team hints there’s more to uncover, stating they “can’t wait to share more.”
Currently, World of Warcraft enthusiasts are navigating the 11.3 patch named Undermine(d), which immerses them in the bustling hub of goblin cartels. While the Midnight release is still several updates away, Blizzard has been generous with teasers about forthcoming content. Expect more revelations at BlizzCon, set to make a comeback in 2026. Personally, I’m thrilled by these early glimpses of the player housing system. If given a choice, I’d love to stake a claim in the Grizzly Hills and soak in its tranquil atmosphere.
