Bungie is set to shake things up with the 2025 Guardian Games in Destiny 2. This year brings a fresh batch of rewards available for players banking medallions, alongside a unique game mode called Rushdown. With Act 2 of Episode Heresy looming on the horizon and the Moments of Triumph hitting the scene, Destiny 2 players have plenty to dive into.
Destiny 2 thrives on its live-service format, where seasonal events let players engage in exclusive activities and snag special rewards. For a few years now, Guardian Games have been a staple during spring, pushing the three player classes to compete in earning and banking as many medallions as they can. With March upon us, Bungie has laid out what’s in store for this year’s Guardian Games.
The core concept of banking medallions stays in play. However, Destiny 2 fans will notice that Guardian Games Nightfalls and Focused Activities are sitting out this year. Instead, the spotlight is on Rushdown—a grueling series of five boss battles that escalate in difficulty yet yield better rewards for players who rise to the challenge. Players can navigate Rushdown via three difficulty settings and matchmaking options, allowing them to either team up randomly, stick with their class, or form a private fireteam.
As for the loot, there’s an impressive spread of goodies to collect this year. Returning favorites like the Allstar Vector Skimmer, Taraxippos, The Title, and Hullabaloo make a comeback. New on the roster is the arc-powered trace rifle, Keraunios. Additionally, three fresh armor sets will be up for grabs in the Eververse store, purchasable with Bright Dust or Silver. Players can also aim to earn the coveted Champ title and seal. Rewards aren’t just for show—individual contributions are recognized with armor glows, based on performances in the Tower, during weekly Rushdown, and for excelling in Supremacy and Gambit.
Players shouldn’t miss the tidal wave of content crashing in soon. Alongside Moments of Triumph and Guardian Games, Act 2 introduces an activity dubbed Court of Blades—a fusion of boss rush mode and roguelite mechanics. Looking ahead, Bungie’s also unveiling Rite of the Nine, eager to debut when Act 3 kicks off. Players can expect The Prophecy, Spire of the Watcher, and Ghost of the Deep dungeons to open wide, featuring unique modifiers designed to dial up the difficulty, reminiscent of a Pantheon-style mode.
For those unfamiliar with Destiny 2, it’s a dynamic universe encouraging players to explore the solar system’s mysteries, all while enjoying the first-person shooter experience. Collect powerful gear, customize your Guardian, and dive into the cinematic storyline—either solo or with your friends. Whether you’re conquering PvP modes or unraveling Destiny 2’s lore, there’s something for every player who dares to craft their legend among the stars.
