Just over two weeks have passed since the much-anticipated release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Warhorse Studios’ follow-up to their 2018 medieval RPG. Now, the game has received its first update — Hotfix 1.1.2 — available across all platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC (via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG), and PS5.
The patch notes kick off with promises of "key stability improvements, quest fixes, and platform-specific tweaks" aimed at polishing your medieval journey. However, the patch is a bit underwhelming, offering just 11 specific bug fixes. Beyond a few crucial crash-related issues, only two significant quest or performance problems have been addressed.
During my review session of KCD2, I encountered very few bugs, but others navigating medieval Bohemia weren’t as fortunate. Continuous audio stuttering on PS5 and graphical glitches like flickering skies and glowing NPC features on consoles have been widely reported.
Sadly, this update doesn’t address many glaring issues that have hindered or halted quest progress. Players facing these problems will have to wait for future updates. If you’re curious to see what’s been fixed, check out the detailed list below.
The KCD2 community’s response to Hotfix 1.1.2 has been predictably negative. Many fans are frustrated at the lack of attention to major issues. "How was the PS5 audio stutter NOT a top priority?" questioned a user on the Kingdom Come subreddit, echoing a common sentiment. Another noted disappointment with the meager number of fixes.
One persistent glitch involves difficulties with Mutt, your in-game dog companion, who sometimes ignores commands despite being well-treated.
It’s disappointing that these initial updates haven’t tackled more pressing issues, but fingers crossed for a more comprehensive patch soon. This was labeled as a "hotfix," so we can hope Warhorse Studios is prepping a more substantial update. They’ve committed to keeping the game fresh with continued support, including upcoming content like new hairstyles, horse races, a hardcore mode, and three DLC expansions.
Despite these setbacks, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 remains a standout title for 2025. It’s not only received glowing reviews, but it also turned a profit within 24 hours and has cartered over 1 million copies in that time frame. It continues to hold a strong player base on Steam and recently surpassed 2 million sales.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC (across various platforms), and PS5. For fans of RPGs, it’s a must-have, and you can even snag it for $47.39 at CDKeys – truly a bargain.
