Capcom has exciting news for fans of classic PlayStation 2 games: Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny is getting a remaster and it’s heading to the Nintendo Switch.
This title is a direct follow-up to Onimusha: Warlords and it managed to capture the hearts of many, selling 2.1 million copies globally. It holds the record as the top-selling installment in the Onimusha series.
At the heart of the story is the new protagonist, Jubei Yagyu, driven by a quest for vengeance. His character design is inspired by the late Yusaku Matsuda, a Japanese actor who gained fame in the 1980s for his iconic roles.
The remastered version stays true to the original’s setting and gameplay but introduces fresh features and quality-of-life improvements, adapting it beautifully for the modern console landscape.
Expect to see Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny available digitally on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch in 2025, ready to enchant a new generation of gamers and renew nostalgia for old fans.
