John Gonzalez, widely recognized for his work as the lead writer on Fallout: New Vegas, has made his way back to Obsidian Entertainment.
Gonzalez broke the news through a LinkedIn update, sharing his excitement about rejoining the studio. However, he clarified that his return is not linked to any project involving Fallout: New Vegas 2. His career at Obsidian originally spanned from 2008 to 2011, after which he took his talents to Ubisoft in Shanghai for over two years.
After his stint with Obsidian, Gonzalez contributed to Warner Bros’ Monolith Productions, bringing his narrative expertise to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor for two and a half years as the lead narrative designer. He then moved on to the Netherlands-based Guerrilla Games, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the narrative for Horizon: Zero Dawn. His journey then took him to Smilegate’s Barcelona studio, where he spent nearly three years.
Beyond his impressive development resume, Gonzalez is venturing into the literary world with his upcoming novel, God Mode: Single Player, slated for release in 2025.
