Capcom has announced some exciting news for gamers eagerly awaiting Monster Hunter Wilds. When the game launches on February 28, 2025, it will come out of the gate with enhancements specifically designed for the PS5 Pro. Though Capcom has been tight-lipped about the exact details of these upgrades, they did spill the beans on some key graphical and resolution benchmarks set for the console version.
Monster Hunter Wilds now joins the ever-expanding lineup of games optimized for the PS5 Pro. According to a recent update from Capcom, those playing the game on a standard PS5 will have the choice between two modes: “Prioritize Graphics” and “Prioritize Framerate.” In the graphics-focused mode, expect output and rendering resolutions of 3840 x 2160 or 3072 x 1728 at 30 frames per second. If you’re all about that silky-smooth gameplay, the framerate mode will deliver 3840 x 2160 or 1920 x 1080 at a speedy 60 fps.
To further reassure fans, Capcom took to social media platform X to announce they’ve been hard at work tackling rendering issues identified during the Open Beta Test. They emphasized that improvements are underway to ensure everything runs smoothly when the big day arrives.
During the open beta, Monster Hunter Wilds faced some scrutiny regarding performance hiccups, with the PC version bearing the brunt of the complaints. Capcom has had a bit of a rocky history with these kinds of issues, notably with Dragon’s Dogma 2, where both the initial PS5 performance and subsequent PS5 Pro patch were less than stellar. However, this time around, Capcom seems determined to nip any potential problems in the bud before the game officially launches, which surely comes as a relief to eager fans.
