Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League may have had a rocky development path, but it wasn’t a total flop. In fact, the game managed to roll out four seasons of free post-launch content. Interestingly enough, around the same time, Goat Simulator 3 is also making waves with similar offerings, albeit in a less complicated package.
Sure, comparing the two might be a stretch, but both games do feature wild adventures in cities destined for mayhem. The difference here is that in Goat Simulator 3, the chaos is intended to be the players’ handiwork, not the work of some supervillain’s minions.
Today, December 12, marks an exciting update from Coffee Stain. They’ve announced the Super Duper Pack DLC for Goat Simulator 3, available now with a complimentary update allowing players to stash up to 50 unique gear sets in their customization menu. Before diving into the nitty-gritty, take a look at the trailer below.
The Super Duper Pack DLC is available for £6.69/$7.99 as I write this. It adds “20 new gears, 6 with abilities, 6 new instincts, and 2 new playable goats.” The trailer showcases various setups, turning playable goats into superhero-esque figures—though many seem more villainous, to be fair. Among the bizarre options is a robot goat, a rock-like creature, and even a goat that’s more tree trunk than animal. It’s all incredibly eccentric, and quite frankly, more imaginative than your typical DC-themed looter shooter.
Since its debut in late 2022, Goat Simulator 3 has seen considerable success, further bolstered by a Steam release earlier this year. While my first impression of the original game was that it was more of a blown-up joke, Goat Simulator 3 steps up its game. It seems like the ideal video game for newcomers to get their feet wet before diving into more complex gaming experiences. Plus, it’s had some pretty cool DLC additions this year.
As much as I poke fun, I can’t deny a certain curiosity about what may be the final season of Suicide Squad. Deathstroke has been a standout post-launch addition, bringing a cool factor that’s tough to beat—though likely not as intriguing as a demon goat.
