Retro publisher Inin Games has now acquired the publishing rights for Shenmue 3. This move comes after the company collaborated with the game’s developer, YsNet, on a project called Air Twister.
Shenmue 3, a highly anticipated installment in the loved Shenmue series, first saw the light of day in 2019. It was originally announced in 2015, with Deep Silver managing its publication at the time.
“Inin Games is deeply honored to continue the Shenmue legacy, especially at such a pivotal point in its history,” the company expressed. They reflected on the extensive history of the franchise, adding, “As we look back on over two decades filled with innovation and passion, our commitment remains unwavering. We aim to carry forward the journey of Ryo Hazuki, catering to both loyal fans and those discovering the series for the first time.”
The company assures that with this new acquisition, the saga of Shenmue is far from reaching its conclusion. “We have thrilling plans lined up to commemorate these milestones, ensuring the series remains vibrant and inspiring. Make sure to stay tuned for future announcements where we’ll reveal our vision for the next chapter in Shenmue’s enduring saga,” they hinted.
