Canadian game studio Worlds Untold has decided to hit the pause button on its operations for a while. This announcement came via a LinkedIn update where the company mentioned they are currently on the lookout for a new collaborator. Back in November 2023, Worlds Untold made its debut in the gaming world, spearheaded by industry veteran Mac Walters, formerly of BioWare fame. At that launch, the studio had the support of the Chinese gaming powerhouse, NetEase. We’ve reached out to them to get some clarity on what’s become of that partnership.
The studio shared, “This wasn’t a decision we took lightly. It’s been a very personal and fulfilling journey, and all of us are incredibly proud of the achievements we’ve made as a team.”
During this hiatus, the talented folks at Worlds Untold will be scouting for new opportunities. The statement urged anyone in search of dedicated and skilled professionals to get in touch, emphasizing the honor it would be to connect with some of the best in the business.
Acknowledging the emotional gravity of the situation, the post expressed heartfelt gratitude towards partners, friends, and family for their unwavering support. It also conveyed optimism, suggesting that while the studio is hitting pause now, it’s not a permanent farewell. They hinted at exciting things ahead and look forward to sharing those developments when the time comes.
