VR front-runner Fast Travel Games has just revealed an exciting new project: Action Hero. This VR shooter, drawing inspiration from Superhot, is gearing up for a Quest release next month.
Imagine stepping into a world where time stands still until you decide to move. This mechanic, reminiscent of Superhot and Superhot VR, allows players to carefully choreograph their moves, crafting gunplay sequences that could rival those of action icon John Wick.
Scheduled for release on Quest 2 and compatible devices on December 12th, Action Hero thrusts you into the shoes of the leading character across five distinct film genres.
Each movie unfolds over four acts, and every act offers five scenes. To advance, you’ll need to defeat enemies and navigate obstacles in a cinematic slow-mo universe where your speed controls time. Fast reflexes and smart tactics are your best friends here; if you’re hit, it’s back to the start of that act for you.
The game’s creative minds at Fast Travel Games have given us a sneak peek at some of the film genres to expect, including an adrenaline-pumping heist, a classic adventure in the vein of Indiana Jones, a sci-fi romp featuring cyborgs, and a ninja epic. The ninja theme even makes an appearance in the latest trailer.
But that’s not all—Action Hero promises to spice things up with boss battles and unique weapons tailored to each movie genre. Plus, each film will have five ‘Director’s Cuts,’ offering new layers of difficulty and whimsical scenarios for players to explore.
Exclusively launching for Quest 2 and newer models on December 12th at a price of $20, Action Hero should definitely be on your radar. Until then, it’s available to wishlist on the Horizon Store.
